Little piece I did for a charity auction.This Banksy style treatment of a rare out-take photo of Bobby and Al from Godfather Part II, (they never appeared on screen together in that film). Wish these guys would stop making movies now and stop destroying their legacies with their recent output. Anyway it sold for a few quid, so eh, happy days!

I had an old model of an Mortal Kombat arcade machine, that I never did anything with. I decided to integrate it into a scene that encapsalated the year it came out; 1992, a year I remember fondly.
Disclaimer: I was never that fond of Wayne's World, it was huge back then though, Flagons of Linden Village on the other hand...

Here's a piece I submitted to an upcoming charity gallery event, to no ones surprise it was rejected. Does'nt comply with corporate values, poor taste and all that jazz.

Anywho, Its supposed to be a memorial to the 'great leaders' and how they first met at the 1978 South Bronx, Baath Party Breakdance Competition.

NAM 2070 - troop carrier / assault tank (work in progress)

Im currently working on a futuristic infantry transport / assault tank for NAM 2070.
Influenced heavily by the Aliens Tank, the Bat Tumbler and the excellent vehicle designs of Scott Robertson,
it can be deployed on the battle field by air lift from the Dropship.
I think I have the basic model completed, just need to work on a few details and then on to the texturing

Finally got around to finishing the cover for my comic book this week. Its still plenty flawed but is essentially the image I always had in my head when I first concieved the idea so it will have to do. I just need to get around to completing the actual comic now, seriously thinking of outsourcing it to India at this rate.

Here’s another design for NAM 2070, I drew it up in Manga Studio and painted it in Photoshop, also learned a few new rendering techniques along the way which made this an enjoyable experience to work on.

Spiel:
The Vietcong of this era are far better equipped than their 20th century counterparts. Suited up in the best Korean Tech, Infra–red goggles, GPS, Kevlar reinforced armour, carbon fibre suit, In-helmet tactical battlefield com system, enhanced AK-47 with LXR Laser Scope, and a light weight titanium hybrid Samurai sword, The modern day Viet Cong soldier presents a formidable challenge to American forces

As I wouldnt consider myself an illustrator of any note, some of the drawing here is a bit iffy, I hope to improve page by page and find some kind of consistant style eventually. Hopefully it will be worth it as I think I might have a good yarn here that will give folks a giggle...

Joe the Janitor Character Concept: Hell Guard

You may have thought my work took a dramatic leap forward in quality here, you'd be wrong!
I asked da big homie, comrade and 'Concept Design Overlord' Gary Reynolds to have a crack at designing a character for my comic book project 'Joe the Janitor'. Naturally he came back a day later and knocked that shit right out the park with this bad boy.

Standing at a hefty 7ft tall, The Hell-Guards basically function as security/enforcers in Hell who routinely eviscerate any lost souls who steps out of line and thinks their hard enough. Gary took inspiration from the Vatican Swiss Guards and Pope/Bishop attire and then mixed it up with some medieval satanic flavour. Unfortunately they wont look this good in my comic but I hope I can still do the design justice regardless.

M-22 Urban Assault Mech

Here’s a close to completion, painted version of my NAM 2070 Mech, I took the basic model render from 3ds Max, drew an outline over it in Manga Studio and then painted it in Photoshop.

Spiel-
M-22 Urban Assault Mech: First deployed in Nam in 2066, The M-22 was used heavily in the streets of Saigon by the Marine Corps after the Tet offensive of 2068, Standing a formidable 30ft tall, its large mini guns proved valuable in clearing Viet Cong snipers from the city's muli-storey buildings. Replaced by the larger M-24 in 2072.

Work in progress render of Nam 2070 Mech. Its not easy to do a mech these days without ripping off the classics, theres elements of Robocop (ED 209), The StarWars Scoutwalker and Mechwarrior in the design but hopefully they combine to form something new here.

Transport Plane Design

This is an unused concept for a PC game Im working on. This transport plane is heavily influenced by the Soviet Antanov's and American Hercules aircraft. It was perhaps a little too industrial and mean looking so we decided to go in another direction. Still, may be of some use again in the future.

Inspired by a drawing by Feng Zhu, I began modelling this about 6 years ago, it got lost in the archives and then after playing a bit of Dead Space 2, I dug it up and decided to give it a go again. I did'nt get very far but I did give it to comrade and uber talented bastard Gary Reynolds, who then did a quick Photoshop overpaint on it and made it look sweeter than I ever will, check his blog at http://g-reyart.blogspot.com/ to see the results.

NAM 2070 - Evolution of a VietCong AK-47

Recipe:

Take your standard off the shelf AK-47, you'll find them in any good supermarket, mix in a bowl with 2 ounces of Heckler & Koch M8A1 assault rifle with water, a teapsoon of the 'FNP90' and a pinch of the 'District 9 Gun' flavouring. Then coat the top with James Cameron Blend 'Aliens Pulse Rifle' sauce. Put it in the oven at 180 degrees for about two hours and voila!

Comic Book Project - Joe the Janitor

Im having a crack at my own Comic Book, despite limited drawing skills, the technology is there now for even monkies like me to have a go.

The Premise: Joseph Stalin has been ejected from Hell and cruely reincarnated as lowly janitor in a North Dublin Christian Brothers School as punishment. His adventures involve battling local chavs, Vatican Hitmen, and the day to day struggles of coping in modern Irish suburbia.

Could be good, could be rubbish, time will reveal...

A concept I hope to get started working on in the coming months designing futuristic vehicles, bases, troops, etc. while mainting that 60s Zeitgeist.
